How To Write a Well-Written Essay
I appreciate the opening suggestion of an article by James Withers, eHow Contributor: “1. Write with a natural voice. Novice essay writers are often tempted to use advanced vocabulary to sound like a knowledgeable expert. Unfortunately, fancy words are no substitute for engaging content.” And he’s right. As I often remind my students, trying to sound intelligent is no substitute being intelligent and writing with a fresh, personal style that represents you! Stand out from the crowd by being yourself in your writing — your teachers will take notice. And the intelligent ones will smile.
